2023 Appraisal

Biggest accomplishments in 2023
Without Aliya’s positivity and work ethic, the marketing team would not have had the
success it had in 2023.
Aliya helped keep morale high and the department on track during disruption after
disruption—from multiple staff medical leaves to layoffs. She looked for solutions, never
gave up, and encouraged her colleagues to do the same.
Aliya had so many achievements in 2023. Over the course of the year, she took a poorly
defined position (that’s on me) and turned it into an invaluable position. Our social
media accounts, our fan relationships, our newsletter program and e-commerce – Aliya
found a way to get it all done without complaint. She was quick to ask for prioritization
when she needed it (something that so many find hard to do) and otherwise worked
closely with her colleagues to get the best result.
Aliya always, without exception, offered to help on projects. She always offered to help
take work off her manager’s plate or join a difficult author call. She’s a doer, a
collaborator, and an absolute force.
There are so many stats that demonstrate Aliya’s success (and she has them available
for posterity) but focusing solely on the data would do Aliya a disservice. Her excitement
for her work, her love of her job, and her unwavering support of her colleagues are what
make her an exceptional, high-potential marketer. She will do great things, and it’s a
pleasure to work with her early in her career.
Overall performance
Aliya had an outstanding 2023, delivering results while keeping the mood of the
department sky high, all year long. She pivoted when it was needed (often) and served
so many roles: convention coordinator, party organizer, social media creator, e-
commerce lead, occasional publicist, and I’m sure there’s even more.
She showed terrific leadership potential, something I’d like her to continue to cultivate,
and is remarkably resilient.
